Test Preparation
We have been helping students prepare for the SAT, ACT and other standardized admissions tests since 2001. This experience has shown us every single test-taker is unique and requires a unique approach and preparation plan! We believe that achieving and optimal test score requires a mix of testing strategies, subject material review and lots of independent practice!
With a mix of these ingredients, our testers regularly see 200-400 point overall SAT improvements with top scorers landing in the 1500s, and 5-10 point ACT improvements with top scorers landing in the 30s.
Get ready in a Day!?!
We joke that we can prepare students in as little as a day for these monstrous, timed exams which test them on their entire middle and high school experience!
And by day, we mean 24 hours of preparation time!
As a parent of two 1500 point SAT scorers, math and science teacher, and 20-year instructor, owner Brent Schraff warns,
“Do not fall for scams which tell you that you can prepare for the SAT/ACT in a day or a week to make a big test improvement!
This is NOT an overnight process!
These tests assess the test-taker’s understanding of reading, writing and math content from all of middle and high school. Therefore, improvements require time, patience, effort, a positive attitude and a customized preparation program!”
While some highly motivated, capable and reasonably free student can do a crash-course preparation session in 4-6weeks, we recommend students allow one semester to prepare for their optimal test results- these are not tests you can crunch for!!! This time will be spent meeting weekly with one tutor to review or teach ALL content that will be tested, reviewing optimal testing strategies which are specific to YOUR student’s strengths and weaknesses, and finally lots and lots of testing, correcting and review.
THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS!
Please call or email to schedule a free informational meeting to review practice test scores, learn about the preparation process, and decide which test and customized course will work best for you and/or your student!
